Welcome to the temple of f
eathered creatures!
It's time to take an incredible trip around the world by discovering the 5 themed aviaries, presenting the biogeographical zones, on offer at the Jardin d'Acclimatation: Oceania, Australia, South-East Asia, Africa and South America.
You'll be in awe of the 40 species that inhabit the pavilions.
That's what acclimatisation is all about: showing visitors the flora and fauna of faraway lands.
Architecture fans will not be disappointed. Designed by Gabriel Davioud, the leading architect of the Second Empire, the Grande Volière is both monumental and finely crafted.
Its structure, made entirely of metal and decorative ironwork, has been open to visitors to the Park since its creation in 1860.
Come and meet our lorikeets
Lorikeets are small, multicoloured parrots native to Australia and Indonesia.
There are around forty of them at the Jardin d'Acclimatation, and you can get up close to them by entering the Grande Volière with them. The team of caretakers looks after our bird friends all day long, ensuring their well-being, comfort and hygiene all year round.
They are also experts in nutrition.
You too can help us to look after the health of our birds by not feeding them yourself.
